Half Cents
1793 1/2 C C-4, B-4, Low R.3, XF45 PCGS. Manley Die State 2. The most frequently seen of the 1793 varieties, and characterized by the long stems on the lower reverse and the ribbon ends that are split for at least half their length. This is a pleasing example that has even, light to medium brown patina throughout. The obverse shows very fine cracking (with magnification) that resembles a dry creek bed. The reverse is smooth and lightly abraded with the most noticeable mark being a shallow lamination above the HA of HALF. Magnification reveals several small specks of green corrosion on the reverse. A bit softly struck on Liberty's hair curls. Our EAC grade VF25.
