Large Cents
1822 1C N-4, R.2, MS65 Brown PCGS. CAC. A stunning Gem representative of a plentiful variety that is rarely found in high grades. In fact, this piece is tied with two others for the finest known 1822 N-4 cent according to the Noyes Census. This virtually flawless chocolate-brown cent has a bold, well-centered strike with full, satiny cartwheel luster. Delicate blue overtones on the reflective surfaces adds to its aesthetic appeal. The few insignificant marks are only visible with magnification. Bill Noyes grades this piece MS65, Bob Grellman suggests MS64+, and Del Bland says MS60+. Our EAC grade MS63. Population for all 1822 varieties: 4 in 65 Brown, 0 finer (6/17).
