Lincoln Cents
1916-D 1C MS66+ Red PCGS. Lincoln cent output at the Denver Mint reached its highest point to date in 1916, when nearly 40 million coins were struck. That was up more than 3,200% from just two years earlier in 1914. This issue is collectible in most grades and only becomes scarce in MS65 Red. Premium Gems are true condition rarities, especially when found with an added Plus designation for quality within the grade. Collectors could go years without encountering a finer representative.
Full definition is apparent on Lincoln's hair, beard, bowtie, and shoulder. Similarly, the reverse is fully struck on the motto, O in ONE, M in AMERICA, and the wheat stalks. Radiant satin luster glistens over near-pristine, coppery-gold surfaces. The eye appeal is fantastic, matching the impressive preservation. Population: 18 in 66 (4 in 66+) Red, 2 finer (6/17).
