Barber Dimes
1896-O 10C MS66+ PCGS. CAC. Lightly toned surfaces feature lilac and pearl-gray centers with peripheral green, blue, and yellow elements. The strike is sharp, aside from a touch of softness on Liberty's forecurls and the lower-left wreath leaves.
All Barber coins struck at the New Orleans Mint in 1896 are considered top rarities in their respective series. A small production of 610,000 dimes was accomplished in that year, and the issue is highly coveted by collectors across all grade levels. High-end pieces like the one offered here sustain the strongest demand. This exceptional representative, among the finest at PCGS, should command significant attention when it crosses the block. Population: 8 in 66 (2 in 66+), 0 finer. CAC: 7 in 66, 1 finer (6/17).
