Barber Half Dollars
1892-O 50C Micro O, FS-501, VF30 PCGS. This minuscule-mintmark variant is the key to the "With Varieties" Barber half dollar set, and it has been known to collectors almost since the day it was struck. It is listed in Augustus Heaton's groundbreaking work Mint Marks, published in 1893. Four or five shallow marks are noted on the obverse. The surfaces are deeply toned overall with slightly lighter color over the devices. The design elements are well brought up. This would be an excellent choice for this rarity in an XF-AU set of Barber halves. Population: 1 in 30, 17 finer (6/17).
