Morgan Dollars
1895-O $1 MS60 PCGS. Morgan dollars can be found in a variety of grades from Poor 1 through the upper reaches of Mint State. Some, like the S-mint issues from the early 1880s, can be found as fine as MS69. But such is not the case for the 1895-O. Indeed, any Mint State example of this famous New Orleans semikey (only 450,000 coins struck) is conditionally rare. Adding to the desirability of high-grade coins is the lack of known Philadelphia circulation strikes, forcing date collectors to choose between two challenging branch mint issues in the 1895-O and the 1895-S. A ring of rainbow toning adorns the rims of this otherwise brilliant semikey dollar. Both sides are lustrous and well-struck for a Louisiana product. Numerous marks define the grade, but no wear is present.
