Indian Half Eagles
1912 $5 MS65+ PCGS. A recently published book on Pratt quarter eagles and half eagles by specialist Allan Schein explains: "Not rare in grades under the Gem level, but tough in grades above MS64, with less than 100 certified, and a mere 3 examples in MS66." Indeed, the 1912 is a major condition rarity in MS65+, and we have yet to handle a finer Premium Gem. The issue was extremely well-made and strike is usually pinpoint-sharp. That is true of this green-gold Gem with distinctive rose accents. Each side is thickly frosted with terrific visual appeal. Population: 66 in 65 (2 in 65+), 0 finer (6/17).
