1875 20C Twenty Cents, Judd-1405, Pollock-1548, Low R.7, PR66 PCGS. Ex: Denali Collection. Seated Liberty at the seashore with 13 stars surrounding and the date 1875 in the exergue below. She holds an olive branch with her right hand and rests her left hand on a globe inscribed LIBERTY. A steamship with sails can be seen to the left. It is often noted that the smoke trails behind the ship, but the sails are billowed in the forward direction. The reverse displays the denomination 20 CENTS within an olive wreath and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around. Struck in aluminum with a plain edge. This is a hairline-free and fully struck specimen with delicate tan-gray toning. A loupe reveals a few unimportant spots on the rims and minor retained reverse laminations at 1, 4, and 8 o'clock.
