1880 $1 MS65 Deep Mirror Prooflike PCGS. Deep Mirror Prooflike dollars from 1880 are challenging to locate, especially so in high grade. Most DMPLs come from a bag of Prooflikes that were dispersed in 1971. This piece displays surprisingly deep mirrors on each side, and is well-balanced. Likewise, the devices are heavily frosted and provide that white-on-black contrast that is so popular with Morgan dollar collectors. The centers are either brilliant or very lightly toned but pick up significant russet and blue toning around the margins. Fully struck. Population: 35 in 65 (5 in 65+) Deep Mirror Prooflike, 2 finer (6/17).
