1903 G$1 Louisiana Purchase, McKinley Gold Dollar MS67+ NGC. Smooth and satiny lemon-gold interiors are framed by deep, orange-gold rims for an unusual and visually impressive two-tone coloration that drapes both sides of this Superb Gem 1903 McKinley. Mint luster abounds across the vibrant surfaces, with rose highlights adding extra eye appeal. There are no marks to report other than two tiny alloy spots in the left obverse field. We rarely handle a McKinley gold dollar with such a distinctive and attractive appearance. NGC reports just one numerically finer piece (6/17). Mislabeled on the insert as a Jefferson gold dollar, hopefully this will be changed by the time of the auction.
