1906-S Peso Philippines Peso XF45 PCGS. KM-168. Issued in the final year before a reduction in the weight and fineness of each silver denomination in 1907, the United States struck the Philippines peso denomination through 1912. The coins bear the identities of both FILIPINAS and the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The 1906-S circulation strike peso is by far the rarest of the group and the key date in the series, with most of the 201,000-piece mintage melted with the change in standard. This is a highly pleasing Choice XF example of the rare issue, with traces of luster remaining on golden-gray surfaces and few marks for the assigned grade. Listed on page 429 of the 2018 Guide Book. Population: 15 in 45, 23 finer (6/17).
