Early Half Dollars
1806 50C Pointed 6, No Stem, O-109, T-15, R.1, AU53 PCGS. CAC. Only one other reverse die used to strike 1806 Draped Bust halves lacks a stem through the eagle's claw, but it is paired with a Knob 6 obverse. The readily available Overton-109 Pointed 6, No Stem variety is easy to identify and equally easy to obtain. That said, few About Uncirculated coins can match the richly toned, natural appeal of this delightful example. Hints of rose and mint luster glow serenely beneath the attractive warm-gray patina. Blue overtones add old-silver appeal to sharply struck devices that show only brief circulation.
