1806 50C 6 Over Inverted 6, O-111a, T-11, R.4, VF20 PCGS. Tompkins Die State 4/4. A popular and relatively available variety, perhaps outnumbering its R.4 rating in terms of survivors but still scarce from strong collector demand. Obvious overpunching of the 6 over two previous inverted 6 digits and a bisecting obverse die break, rim to rim, from 8 through the serif of E to the edge join a full cud above E of UNITED. Natural, silver-gray toning deepens to umber-gray in the fields around light-gray raised devices. Nice for the grade.
