Bust Half Dollars
1807 50C Capped Bust, Large Stars, 50 Over 20, O-112, R.1, AU58 NGC. The first-year Capped Bust design by John Reich had an estimated mintage of 750,500 pieces -- a large number for the four obverse and three reverse dies to accomplish. This O-112 example represents the most plentiful die pair, and considerable die wear is evident across the attractive, silver-lilac surfaces with rich golden highlights at the borders. Frosty mint luster glows from both sides. Census: 23 in 58 (1 in 58★), 31 finer (6/17).
