Bust Half Dollars
1811/10 50C O-101, R.1, AU55 PCGS. Struck from worn dies, this Choice About Uncirculated example lacks most of its milling around both sides. Deep gunmetal-blue toning at the borders cedes to amber-gold toning at the centers over finely grained surfaces. The dot between 8 and 1 is visible but drawn toward the edge, while the spike at the front of the cap still exists despite the die erosion. The position of the scroll is diagnostic for O-101 to distinguish its reverse from that of O-102, positioned slightly further to the left.
