Bust Half Dollars
1811/10 50C O-101, R.1, AU58 PCGS. CAC. Ex: Frederick Collection. The overdate obverse and the position of I approximately centered below the T identify the O-101 marriage. This is the 18.11 variety, showing a "decimal" dot in the date. A short spine protruding from the top of Liberty's cap gives the illusion that the capped is pinned up. The obverse has a faint die crack from stars 9 to 12. Flowlines obscure the crack, making it nearly invisible. The reverse is also flowlined.
This lovely overdate has brilliant silver luster with ivory surfaces and delicate gold toning splashes. Slightly deeper gray indicates traces of wear on the high points. The eye appeal of this desirable near-Mint example is excellent.
