Bust Half Dollars
1811 50C Small 8, O-105a, R.2, MS62 PCGS. Steel-blue and rose toning overlay lilac-gray shades on this richly toned, blatantly original O-105a half. The strike is razor-sharp throughout both sides and the surfaces are softly lustrous beneath the variegated patina. A bold die crack encircles the reverse from above UNITED STA, turning downward through the scroll, above the wing, and eventually through the 5 in 50 to the edge. Early-date Bust halves with wholly original skin are highly valued and seldom seen.
