Bust Half Dollars
1812/1 50C Large 8, O-101a, R.5, Fine 15 PCGS. One of the classic rarities among the Capped Bust early dates, the 1812/1 Large 8 is even rarer in its late die state (O-101a) with strong die cracks through and near the date and through the stars. This Choice Fine coin is an attractive "circulation cameo" example with lighter raised devices set against richly toned, slate-gray fields. Strong dentils and rims surround completely formed motifs with strong definition for the assigned grade.
