Bust Half Dollars
1813 50C O-103, R.2, AU58 PCGS. The distinction between O-103 and O-103'a' is vague, since most examples of the die marriage have a partially filled 3 in the date, as well as die clashing and die erosion at the margins typical of a later state. Perhaps a better criteria for O-103 is whether the large stars are clear of the milling. In this example they are clear (barely). Blue border toning surrounds champagne-gold centers with light wear visible at the high points. Satiny mint luster shines on both sides.
