Bust Half Dollars
1817/3 50C O-101a, R.2, XF45 PCGS. A die crack originates above M in AMERICA and travels downward to the wing tip, branch tip, and crosses the top of the denomination to confirm a late state of the dies, which are multiply clashed as well. Multicolor shades of orange, teal, aquamarine, and violet-gray cover both sides of this Choice XF example. As usual, the strong strike remains in evidence with sharp stars and crisp overdate definition. Sharp luster survives at the margins. Population: 31 in 45, 80 finer (6/17).
