Bust Half Dollars
1817 50C O-112, R.2, AU55 PCGS. Few signs of the brief circulation exist to the unaided eye on either side of this richly toned Choice About Uncirculated half. A glass reveals faint vertical die lines by the neck that serve as markers for the O-112 variety. On the reverse, RI in AMERICA touch with the I positioned far too high compared to the surrounding letters. Deep walnut-brown toning covers the minimally marked surfaces, with bits of silver luster lurking beneath the toning.
