Bust Half Dollars
1828 50C Square Base 2, Small 8s, Large Letters, O-117a, R.1, MS61 PCGS. Cartwheel mint luster radiates from the frosted surfaces of this Mint State Overton-117a example. Vibrant orange-gold toning at the margins surrounds near-brilliant silver centers. The top serif of C in 50 C is sharply recut to identify the reverse die, while a die crack along the top of the legend confirms the late die state. The strike is exceptionally sharp throughout both sides.
