1837 50C GR-20, R.3, MS64 PCGS. Die lines within the curls and the recut 7 attribute variety GR-20, a die pair that can be found "without much trouble even in Gem Mint state." A needle-sharp strike on the central devices softens around the peripheral motifs. Beautifully preserved surfaces display marvelous iridescent patina in shades of ice-blue, violet, and peach-gold. Truly an attractive, original example of the two-year type.
