Seated Half Dollars
1871-CC 50C WB-101, Die Pair 1, R.4, XF45 PCGS. The 1871-CC half dollar is scarce overall and rare in XF and finer condition. The old 1993 Wiley-Bugert reference assigns an R.5 rarity rating to XF and AU coins; this is one of the more available die pairings of O-101. Mint State pieces are virtually unobtainable; indeed, PCGS and NGC have certified just seven Uncirculated examples (6/17). Low intensity golden-gray patina with bluish-gray accents resides on both sides of this Choice XF specimen, each of which is well defined and minimally marked. This coin is sure to elicit spirited bidding.
