Walking Liberty Half Dollars
1916-S 50C MS65 PCGS. The 1916-S boasts the lowest mintage among the three first-year issues in this series (508,000 pieces). Examples are available in circulated grades but are scarce in Mint State. Fully struck Gems are, according to Bruce Fox in the 1993 book The Complete Guide to Walking Liberty Half Dollars, "one of the most difficult [to locate in] the series." This peripherally toned and splendidly preserved example is well impressed throughout aside from a minor lack of detail on the eagle's trailing leg feathers.
