Early Dollars
1795 $1 Flowing Hair, Three Leaves, B-5, BB-27, R.1, XF45 PCGS. Bowers Die State III. A die line connects the tip of the left branch stem to the rim. This collectible variety of the 1795 Flowing Hair dollar is easily attributed by the raised die scratch in the field behind Liberty's middle curls. Both the availability of the BB-27 die marriage and the impressive degree of remaining design detail make this an ideal representative of the type. The stars are fully raised, the curls exhibit crisp delineation, and the eagle's wing and leg feathers are bold. Well-centered with bright steel-gray surfaces. Wispy marks appear throughout, and a horizontal lamination extends from below S(TATES) to the eagle's head. Housed in a green label holder.
