Early Dollars
1795 $1 Draped Bust, Centered, B-15, BB-52, R.2, XF40 PCGS. Bowers Die State IV. A triangular die break on the hair near the ribbon extends upward. This is the later, slightly scarcer of two Draped Bust varieties for the 1795 dollar. Liberty's portrait is well-centered, and the B in LIBERTY is positioned before the curl. Strong detail on the stars, crisply delineated hair strands, and needle-sharp wing feathers characterize this XF dollar. The surfaces are mostly untoned, except for blue-green accents near the borders.
