1842 $1 MS64 PCGS Secure. OC-4, R.1. The obverse has a series of narrow rim breaks in a later state that described at Seateddollarvarieties.com. These cuds extend from below the tip of the rock at the left, counterclockwise to below the 4 in the date. There is no evidence of the reverse rim break that develops on later die varieties. This Choice Mint State piece has lovely gold and iridescent toning on each side with frosty, underlying mint luster. Population: 20 in 64 (3 in 64+), 0 finer (6/17).
