Seated Dollars
1859-O $1 MS62 PCGS. OC-1, R.1. The obverse has no notable die markers, but the reverse shows the mintmark close to the stem, tilted slightly clockwise, with numerous diagnostic cracks around the legends. An Uncirculated 1859-O example often serves to represent the Seated Liberty dollar type. It is believed approximately 2,000 Mint State coins were released during the early 1960s. Despite the relatively widespread distribution, supply always falls short of demand. Both sides are better-struck than might be expected. Mixed areas of brilliance and deep patina cover the obverse, while the other side is mainly untoned. Satiny with small scattered marks.
