1942 1C Experimental Brown Plastic Cent, Judd-2060, RB 42-57 -- Broken -- PCGS Genuine. Unc Details. Impact Strength Test. First Reverse. This dark reddish-brown example is broken, likely within the Durez Plastics and Chemical, Inc. facilities during internal tests of the material. The company, located in North Tonawanda, New York, reported that they produced the experimental cents on preforms of "phenolic resin impregnated pulp" that were supplied by the Keyes Fibre Company of Waterville, Maine. This piece is housed within a "Cointain" in its PCGS holder.
