1942 1C Experimental Urea Formaldehyde Cent, Judd-2062, RB 42-57b, SP65 PCGS. First Reverse. Roger W. Burdette recently examined this piece and notes that the "impression is better than often found on plastic pieces and the uniformity of dimensions indicates careful manufacture." During his examination, Burdette further observed that "the surfaces exhibit many tiny bright points or flecks as if a reinforcing material such as fine mica or diatomaceous earth had been added to the base resin." This sharply detailed auburn example is attributed to the Durez Plastics and Chemical Company of North Tonawanda, New York.
