1942 1C Experimental Amber Glass Cent, RB 42-70-X-3, R.8 -- Fragment -- NGC. 2.28 grams, Specific Gravity 2.51. This yellow-amber fragment is approximately trapezoidal and includes slightly less than half of the impression from Sinnock's experimental dies. That design detail that is present is sharply defined. The visible flange area outside of the impression may be instrumental in reconstructing the manufacturing method. Burdette writes: "There is no indication of grinding or any attempt to smooth edges. It is likely this item was broken during initial handling or when an attempt was made to cut it out of the larger piece of glass."
