Gold Dollars
1849-D G$1 MS62 PCGS. Variety 1-A. Mintmark positioned left under the ribbon. This first-year Dahlonega gold dollar is fully struck on the obverse, the reverse showing a touch of softness on the date and denomination but is otherwise sharp. The dentils are mostly indistinct on each side. A hint of reflectivity is apparent despite the grade-defining abrasions. Probably 40 to 60 Uncirculated examples survive. Population: 30 in 62 (1 in 62+), 16 finer (6/17).
