1855-O G$1 AU55 NGC. Variety 1. The only New Orleans Type Two gold dollar claims a tiny mintage of 55,000 coins and is subject to constant collector demand because of its single-year status and Louisiana origin. Examples are very scarce in Choice AU condition and become major rarities in Mint State. A small planchet void under OF and softness on the 8 are the only blemishes. Otherwise, both sides are well-detailed and eye-appealing with green-gold color.
