Liberty Double Eagles
1875-CC $20 -- Obverse Improperly Cleaned -- NGC Details. Unc. Variety 2-B. Officials at the Nevada branch mint struck a generous quantity of double eagles in 1875: 111,151 pieces in all. That makes the 1875-CC a popular issue within the series, being one of the few Carson City twenties available (relatively) in high grades. This Uncirculated example exhibits evidence of having been polished on the obverse, the surfaces bright and lightly hairlined. The reverse is naturally yellow-gold with vibrant luster.
