Bruce-37.2 (plate coin); Maz-926; VG-2731. Reeded edge. Single finest graded at NGC with none graded at PCGS. Henri of Artois, Count of Chambord, self-styled King of France from 2nd to 9th August 1830 as Henry V. He was the last legitimate descendant in the male line of Louis XV of France (his Great-great-grandfather). Due to his grandfather, Charles X, Henri was a Petit-Fils de France which accorded him the same style and status as if he was the king's heir apparent. Later the Legitimists the royalist faction in France who adhere to the traditional dynastic succession of descendants would have him as their pretender to the throne from 1844-1883. Sharply struck showing every detail well defined with stark contrast of the frosted devices and soft satiny fields. Beautifully toned with a plethora of colors in the peripheries. Clearly one of the finest if not the finest extent and totally deserving of the designated grade. NGC PROOF-67.
