GREAT BRITAIN. Britannia 50 and 100 Pounds, 1987.GEM BRILLIANT PROOF.
Fr-428 & 429; KM-952 & 953; S-4281 & 4286. First year of issue. Each with an authorized mintage of only 2,500 pieces as individuals, but according to Spink the 50 Pounds has a mintage of only 2,486 pieces and the 100 pounds a mintage of only 2,485 pieces. Each their cases of issue with certificates of authenticity serial # 946 for the 50 Pounds and # 1241 for the 100 Pounds. Both are sharply struck as would be expected being Royal mint products with hard flashy proof surfaces and stark contrast to the frosted devices. Both are essentially as made. GEM BRILLIANT PROOF.
