GUATEMALA. 8 Reales, 1768-P. Charles III (1759-88). NGC AU-55.
KM-27.1; FC-17; El-20; Gil-G-8-16b. Obverse crown type d; Reverse: cross below "I" of "HISPAN", no stop between "G" and "H". Evidence of the last two digits of the date repunched. VERY RARE variety with easily identifiable die characteristics. Good strike with light grey tone in the open fields and mild russet hugging the devices of the obverse while the reverse has a more even tone and displays a bit deeper hues in the peripheries. Lustrous and quite attractive. NGC AU-55.
