GUATEMALA. Quetzal, 1925. Philadelphia Mint. NGC MS-62.
KM-242; El-143. RARE in this state of preservation. Popular one year type. Estimated mintage of approximately 10,000 pieces with 7,000 pieces withdrawn from circulation between 1927 and 1928 and melted. An unknown amount was withdrawn in 1932 leaving less than 3,000 examples that could possibly exist. Excellent strike with lovely smokey grey tone and light iridescence when tilted. One of the most highly sought after world crowns on the planet and sure to excite even the most sophisticated of collectors. NGC MS-62.

From the Richard Stuart Collection.

Estimate: $3500.00- $5000.00
