PHILIPPINES. 8 Reales, ND (Decree of December 20, 1834, Suppressed March 31, 1837 (By Decree of February 1, 1836)). PCGS Genuine--Holed, VF Details Secure Holder.
KM-B139; Basso-43; cf.PNM#6-160; cf.PNM#16-348; Cacho-Type V; Lopez-Chavez Yriarte-Type IV group B. Type VI countermark crowned Y.II. within circle. On an 1820-LIMAEJP Peru Bust 8 Reales. RARE with countermark over both side of perforation. Of the roughly 40 examples that we have recorded with countermarks over both sides of the perforation only three were of this type and mint, but not the date. Also, interesting to note that both countermarks match the two countermarks from the perforated example in the Ray Czahor collection that also had an additional F.7.0 countermark on the obverse. Countermarks well struck over perforation. Moderate even wear with attractive grey tone. Countermarks VF Details, host coin PCGS Genuine--Holed, VF Details Secure Holder.
