FRANCE. Tonnelier Press Novodel Pattern Ruble Struck in Silver, 1845. Paris Mint, engraver N. Tiolier. NGC MS-63.
Bit-H1288; Maz-1162; cf.V.G.-2973; Sev-3484. Plain edge. VERY RARE. Three-line inscription: "MODULE DU ROUBLE ARGENT" within wreath; Reverse: Five-line inscription: "PRESSE THONNELIER ESSAYEE A PARIS LE 15 AOUT 1845" within wreath. Sharply struck as would be expected with an attractive lilac-grey tone throughout which deepens to slate grey in the peripheries and around the devices with a blue sheen. Interesting and deserving of further research. NGC MS-63.
