MEXICO. 4 Reales, 1748-MF. Ferdinand VI (1746-59). NGC EF-40.
KM-95; cf.Gil-M-4-21; cf.Yonaka-M4-48; Cal-Type 179; Harris-151; Palmer & Almanzar-226; Grove-786. "FERDND" over "PHILIP", no neckmould on tops of pillars. VERY RARE with evidence of the previous king's name under the new king's name. Neither Mr. Gilboy nor Mr. Yonaka make mention of this variant which would suggest that they were unaware of its existence. Traces of pastel tones are mixed within the light grey surfaces producing good eye appeal for the grade. A very interesting variety sure to excite the specialist of Spanish Colonial. NGC EF-40.
Estimate: $400.00- $600.00
