BRUNEI. Ten Piece Special Presentation Proof Set, 1994. Singapore Mint. GEM BRILLIANT PROOF.
Fr-14 & 15; KM-54a, 55a, 56a, 57a, 58a, 59a, 60a, 61a, 62 & 63(unlisted as a set); Tan-unlisted. Mintage of only 20 sets. Struck to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of Independence. Though not mentioned in any of the reference material that we are familiar with the very limited mintage of only 20 sets as indicated on the certificate of authenticity would suggest that these sets were produced to align the mintage figures of the proofs to the same number as the non-proof issues. The mintage of the other proofs and proof sets are all lacking 20 pieces such as the individual silver 10 Dollars (mintage of 2,480 pieces), individual white gold 100 Dollars (mintage of 1,480 pieces), individual pure gold 1,000 Dollars (mintage of 480 pieces) and eight piece silver proof set (mintage of 1,980 sets). Since there is no mention of these sets in the literature it would also suggest that they were produced as presentation sets given to important dignitaries or officials and not released to the general public. With case of issue and certificate of authenticity serial #11. VERY RARE and highly desirable. Several have slight haze otherwise free of tone or fog. GEM BRILLIANT PROOF.
