THAILAND. 20 Baht (5 Tamlung or 1/4 Chang), CS 1242 (1880).
303.72 gms. C-191; Krisadaolarn-pg. 214 pl. E502; Krisadaolarn/Mihailovs-pg. 138, pl. E36 & E37; LeMay-pg. 110. This issue was made for the ceremonial cremation of King Chulalongkorn's mother Somdet P'ra Deb Sirindhra, as well as to commemorate his age. Two of the three stamps are typical emblems of Thai coinage and medals. One being an elaborate form of the chakra, and the other is the mark of the crown. The third stamp is the mark of Rampeui with date below, which was chosen because it was his mother's maiden name. Also, of particular interest is the fact that this type is the only dated bullet coinage from the entire series from the Sukhothai period through the Rattanakosin period. Some light trivial handling marks from long ago now with deep attractive old tone which display a lovely blue sheen. VERY RARE and highly important. CHOICE EXTREMELY FINE.

Estimate: $17000.00- $20000.00
