CHINA. Kwangsi. Cast Silver Medal, ND (ca. 1926).
24 mm; 7.6 gms. The obverse with an image of both sides of a 1926 Kwang-Si silver 20 Cent coin, and three inscriptions within medallions on the reverse. Pierced for suspension. It has been suggested that this may be a personal identification tag for mint personnel. An intriguing spelling error is noted on the reverse of the depicted coin: "TWENTY" is spelled "TWENY". Unevenly toned. Both the major grading services NGC and PCGS declined to grade this piece and as such SOLD AS IS/NO RETURNS. VERY FINE.
Estimate: $100.00- $150.00
