KUSHAN: Kanishka II, ca. 226-240, AV dinar (7.92g), G-550, Mitch-3501var, standard obverse, with Brahmi pa / vi // Ardoksho enthroned, with Brahmi character upper right, probably th, trace of attachment removed from the edge (noticeable only on the edge), VF to EF, R, ex Skanda Collection, Lot 63. From this reign onwards, virtually all Kushan dinars adhere to the two standard designs for the reverse. Both share the same obverse, derived from Vasu Deva I, without the nandipada, but with several Brahmi characters, as listed by Mitchiner. The western reverse has Siva and the bull Nandi. The eastern reverse has the deity Ardoksho enthroned, holding diadem & cornucopiae.
