Canada
Newfoundland. Victoria 5 Cents 1873 VF30 PCGS, London mint, KM2. Obverse 1; Dot Before and After Newfoundland. A notable survivor of this seldom-encountered date, boasting prestigious pedigrees and attractive tone across both sides. The small planchet is handsomely dressed in slate-gray patina, with hints of mauve that peek through the breaks, and while moderate wear accounts for the grade, any distracting marks appear to blend easily into the darkened color. A review of the PCGS census report confirms that at present time, there are no certified examples of this type at the Mint State level. Scarce in all qualities, wholly appealing as a type, and likely to garner much attention as such.
