Rare quality for the type, displaying a sharp strike that is particularly bold around the legends on both sides as well as the crowned shield on the reverse. Flyspeck marks that blend into the surfaces define the grade. Presently the only Mint State 4 escudos of Charles III from the Popayan Mint in the NGC census.
