Henry VIII (1509-1547) gold Angel 1544-1547 MS62 NGC, Tower mint, Third coinage of 1544-1547, Lis mm, S-2299, N-1830. A bright and lustrous example of this variety defined by the annulet to the left of St. Michael's head as well as on the hull of the ship, although the latter is difficult to spot due to a touch of striking weakness. The overall level of detail, however, is excellent as is the quality of the planchet itself. Sharp and highly deserving of close inspection.
