Provisional bronze Proof 4 Pesos 1862 PR66 Brown NGC, Tegucigalpa mint, KM26. Dots Flank Date variety. Remarkable quality for the issue and designated by NGC as a "Bronze Pattern" thus, with radiant luster in the fields, hints of navy-blue tone at the peripheries and traces of original mint red around the protected devices. From a technical standpoint, very likely the finest survivor of this type (the next finest we've seen is the second finest certified example, which graded MS64 RB and was sold by us for $1410 in our 2014 Long Beach auction), with the associated beautiful appearance only adding to its allure. An elite coin in all regards!
